Charity racquets for Fernando Gonzalez and Chilean earthquake relief.

We at Priority One have had the distinct pleasure of working for Fernando Gonzalez for many years.  We started in 2003 customizing his racquets, and in 2006 he became a P1 gold stringing service client.  He is a genuinely nice guy and a true professional.  When he called in March of this year, and asked if we would help him collect some players' racquets to auction for charity to benefit Chilean earthquake relief, we were more than happy to help out.

During our Davis Cup ties in March, and at tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami, we collected some racquets from players, and even had one racquet custom painted to commemorate a rare occasion.  During Indian Wells, the Roger Federer organized "Hit for Haiti part 2" was played.  It was a doubles match played with Roger Federer and Pete Sampras taking on Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi.  We had a special racquet made up to commemorate the event, specifically designed to be autographed by the four legendary participants.  Each player was perfectly gracious, signed the racquet, and we gave it to Fernando in Miami, so he could donate it for a charity to auction.

I just posted photos of these very special racquets on the P1 media page.  A couple of the donated racquets were broken during matches and autographed, hopefully making them even more valuable.  The white racquet is a "one of a kind" collectors dream.  Who knows if Federer, Sampras, Nadal and Agassi will ever be on the same court again, let alone available to autograph a custom racquet to commemorate the occasion?
